AMET, a pioneer
and trendsetter in Maritime Education since 1993, has been accredited with A
Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC, Bengaluru). A
Peer Team comprising of Seven Academicians of high repute under the
Chairmanship of Prof Ashok De (Director, National Institute of Technology,
Patna) has assessed various quality attributes of the University during 6-8,
September 2021. Based on the Assessment Report submitted by this team, the NAAC
has accredited AMET with A Grade which is valid for next five years. This
enables the University to expand its various activities including open,
distance and online education. AMET is the only higher education in India in
the category of Maritime Education to get this top grade of Accreditation from
NAAC.
Besides,
the University has been ranked as Third among world maritime Universities in
the PIMET ranking by the International Association of Maritime Universities
(IAMU) for the past three consecutive years. In addition, AMET has also secured
A1 Outstanding Grade from the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of
India for the past five consecutive terms. DrNaesey J Ramachandran, Chancellor
of the University and Col.Dr.G.Thiruvasagam, Vice Chancellor of AMET and
President of Association of Indian Universities have congratulated and
appreciated all the students, alumni, parents, industry partners, Professors
