September 13, 1978, Jacques R Saade launched the first maritime line between
Marseilles (France) and Beirut (Lebanon), with only one ship and 4 employees.

adventure. 40 years later, CMA CGM has become a recognised world leader, with
34,000 employees and a presence in more than 160 countries.
the event, Mathieu Friedberg said that India is fast growing and is one of the
Groupís key business locations. He added that customer centricity is the main
strategic priority for the Group, standing together with development of
mainline & logistics services and innovative value-added services.
Vincent, MD, CMA CGM India shared that the company has grown exponentially in
the last three decades. He followed by saying that, as a group, CMA CGM is able
to grow almost double the speed of the Indian market, adding that he was
confident that in the future, this trend will continue, and that CMA CGM will
finish the year with healthy double-digit growth in the containerised business
out of India.
