GSL with MMC participates in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, clears off plastic and garbage after Saptha festival

With reference to the various news articles appeared in the press in the past few days regarding the spread of dengue and malaria due to heavy monsoons in the Port Town of Vasco, it is now being informed that a number of preventive measures have been adopted and implemented by Goa Shipyard Ltd., located in the city of Vasco to control and curb the vector borne diseases, which is a common outcome during the monsoon season, says a release.

Besides the targeted pest control and fumigation schedule, Goa Shipyard Limited has actively participated in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a National Mission. Recently, as a part of the Swachh Bharat Pakhwada, GSL has further undertaken on regular basis appropriate measures to ensure a plastic free zone on the public road adopted, running through Swantantra Path to Airport Junction, Dabolim. The accumulation of plastic and garbage on the Swantantra Path & Fr Joseph Vaz Road during the recently held Saptha festival has been totally removed and cleaned on 29th Aug 2018 under the leadership and initiatives of GSL, with the co-operation of the MMC.

Chief Officer, Mormugao Municipal Council has expressed his wholehearted appreciation for the efforts adopted by GSL and hoped that GSL would continue to provide their assistance in future also.
