Bengaluru, Cochin, Coimbatore and Hyderabad have sorted out over five thousand
pending shipping bills during the last ten days.
positive outcome of this initiative, Dr. A. Sakthivel, Regional Chairman,
FIEO-Southern Region thanked Commissioners of all Customs Stations for their
proactive initiative which helped in showing excellent results.
The Help desk started
functioning in FIEO offices in southern cities from July 20th and
it will be continuing up to August 1st. The Help Desks in
FIEO also will function on Saturday & Sunday and Dr Sakthivel urged all
exporters especially MSME sector which suffered due to delay in settlements in
GST refund claim to come forward and utilize this opportunity.
The idea of the
Help Desk is to handle the issues related to all Ports irrespective of the City
the exporter is representing. The help desk is also providing information
related to reason for errors and how to rectify the same..
Dr A Sakthivel said
that the new initiative is being welcomed and appreciated by trade and seeing
the success of the Help Desk, the Customs Department has voluntarily agreed to
open it on Saturday and Sunday (28th & 29th July
2018) in FIEO Southern Region in Chennai. Exporters are requested to
