V.O. Chidambaranar Port Trust inaugurated the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana
(PMBJP) Medical Store in the presence of
Shri S. Natarajan, Deputy Chairman, V.O. Chidambaranar Port Trust at Beach Road
(opposite to Sub Collector’s Office), says a release.

Chidambaranar Port Trust stated that “the generic medicines available under
this scheme meeting the highest quality benchmarks are made available by the
Government at costs much less than that of branded counterpartsand would
eventually reduce and redefine the unit cost of treatment per person”.
According to the vision of Prime Minister
of India, Shri Narendra Modi, Government’s priority under the PMBJP scheme is
to provide quality medicines at affordable rates to the poor and marginalized
sections of society.
To facilitate the above, as directed by
the Ministry of Shipping, a building with 36.30 sq.mt area at Beach Road near
minor Port is allotted to NGO M/s. Empower India Civil Society Organisation,
Tuticorin for operating the Pradhan
Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi
Pariyojana (PMBJP) Medical Store. The
medical store would serve the public from Monday to Saturday from 0930 Hrs to
