Shrihari Pai Raikar, Director (Operations) retires from GSL

Mr Shrihari Pai Raikar, Director (Operations) at Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) retired on superannuation on 31 May 2018. Mr Raikar served GSL for over 38 years in various capacities and had assumed charge as Director (Operations) of the company on 02 Mar 2015, directly looking after important departments like Production, Commercial, Design etc. Previously, he had headed the Modernisation department of the company for 9 years and had played key role in the execution of Shipyard’s modernization, which has transformed the shipyard with state-of-the art world class infrastructure, thereby trebling its production capacity.


His tenure as Director (Operations) saw shipyard executing all the shipbuilding projects, ahead of contractual schedule. Remarkably, he is the first Goan to rise to the Board level position of the Central PSU and will be succeeded by Shri S J Kamat, who will be assuming charge of Director (Operations) wef 01 June 2018.


Mr Shrihari Pai Raikar was ceremoniously given warm farewell by the higher management of GSL on his last working day at GSL.


Shri S Anil Kumar, Chief General Manager (Production) also retired on the same day and was given warm farewell by large number of Officers and workers. Mr Anil Kumar, a Naval Architect by qualification and with over 35 years of service in GSL, is credited with smooth execution of 6 CGOPV Project and two major export projects for Srilanka and Mauritius, all ahead of schedule.
