Biggest cruise ship MS MARINER OF THE SEAS docks at Mormugao

Mormugao Port Trust played host to two luxury cruise liners back to back at the port during this week bringing in loads of international guests to the State of Goa. MS CELEBRITY CONSTELLATION arrived at Mormugao Port on 16th April 2018 with 2068 guests from several nationalities and 960 crew members.  

Today, 17TH April 2018, one of the biggest cruise ships with an LOA of 311 metres to visit during the present cruise tourism season MS MARINER OF THE SEAS of the Royal Caribbean   International is docked at the port. The cruise liner sailed in at Mormugao Port early in the morning from Cochin port.  The cruise liner has brought in 2682 guests and a crew compliment of 1238 members. The visiting guests hailed from USA (936), Great Britain (553), Austria (341), and Canada (392).  All the passengers were issued with E-Landing cards and cleared by the Immigration on board the ship at Cochin. 

The officials of the Goa Tourism Department, Government of Goa, were present at the Port to welcome the state guests and extended a warm welcome to them on their arrival with colorful cultural pageantry. The arriving guests had a glimpse of Goa’s rich traditional folk dances and scintillating music with an East-West flavor. The guests were seen having a pleasant time after disembarking, enjoying the colorful display, before boarding the waiting coaches for their excursion to various tourists’ locations across the State.  The transition of the guests from the port to the various tourists’ location was handled smoothly without delay by the main operator M/s. Travelsmith Adventure Pvt Ltd., Goa. M/s. Travelsmith Goa are also conducting special custom made excursion trips to the visiting guests as per their individual choice. These facilities translates well in terms of attracting more international guests to the State of Goa by cruise liners as they are impressed with Goa’s landscape, East-West cultural bonding, its natural beauty,  as well its exquisite cuisine. 

 M/s. J. M. Baxi & Co, Vasco da Gama were the Ship Agents for the cruise liner and assisted in all the Ship logistics. The cruise vessel will sail to Muscat, on its onward voyage later in the evening.
