India’s exports is expected to touch 470 billion dollars during the current financial year

India’s exports is expected to touch 470 billion US dollars during the current financial  year including 300 billion US dollars worth goods exports and 170 billion US Dollars worth service exports, Mr Ganesh Kumar Gupta President Federation of Indian Exporters association said

Speaking at a function organized by FIEO to confer the best exports award to 61 categories of exporters, Mr Gupta said his organization is working with all the four southern states to identify potential products for exports and devise strategies to promote them in the global market.

He urged the state government’s GST authorities to ensure that the refunds are given quickly to the exporters since they are facing serious liquidity crunch.

Dr A Sakthivel, Regional Chairman of FIEO said with the support of the state governments in the region and the pro active measures initiated by the central government to facilitating exports from the region, Southern state’s share in the country’s international trade can reach thirty per cent in the next two years as against 23 per cent at present.

Tamil Nadu remained the leader of exports in the region contributing 13.5 per cent of the share of country’s exports followed by Karnataka 7.02 per cent, Kerala 3.3 per cent and Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together  4.5 per cent makes the region vibrant in International Trade..

Mr Ajay Sahai, Director General and CEO of FIEO said his organization is having an action plan to reach across tier two and tier three cities to help exporters.

Vice president M Venkiah Naidu, who gave away 61 awards to different categories of exporters who excelled in performance for the year 2015-16 and 2016-17, assured the exporters that the government will sort out the issue relating to GST refunds.

Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit urged the state governments to focus on core competency of each state and promote industrial cluster that could take up exports.
