Prime Minister Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu dedicated to the nation on 17 January 2018,
the iCREATE facility located on the outskirts of Ahmedabad. iCreate is an
independent center created with the objective of facilitating entrepreneurship
through a blend of creativity, innovation, engineering, product design and
leveraging emerging technologies to deal with major issues such as food
security, water, connectivity, cybersecurity, IT and electronics, energy,
bio-medical tools and devices etc. iCreate aims to develop an ecosystem
in India to generate quality entrepreneurs.
It was a rare historic moment for both the countries as the
event declared that the bilateral relations between them have gained great
significance and depth; harmony characterized the relationship of objectives of
boosting up entrepreneurship through innovations in technologies.
Prime Minister Narendra
Modi said that the energy of India's youth and their enthusiasm offers great
potential. His government is creating ecosystems to harness their energy and
ideas. He said the youth of India has energy and
enthusiasm. What the youth needs is a bit of encouragement and
institutional support, he added.
The Prime Minister said that the government is working on the
whole system innovation-friendly, so that intent may generate ideas; ideas
lead to innovation; and innovation helps create a new India.He said that
the first pre-requisite of success is courage. He congratulated the
courageous youth who are engaged in innovative activities at iCreate.
Quoting Kalidasa, the Prime Minister touched on the dilemma
between convention and innovation. He urged the youth of India to innovate
on the challenges today, and to improve the quality of life.
The Prime Minister spoke of cooperation between India and
Israel for innovation in areas like food, water, health and energy. He
said this cooperation between the two countries would write a new chapter in
the history of mankind in the 21st century.
The two leaders also
visited the startup exhibition at the venue and interacted with entrepreneurs
and innovators. Prime Minister Modi praised Israel for its technological
milestones. Netanyahu too was all praise for PM Modi.

said that we need to ensure that ideas of youth are nurtured and incubated.
Providing mentorship, network and institutional support to the youth is high on
govt's agenda. Programmes such as Start-Up India are examples of this intent.
He said that mutual cooperation and complementarities between India and Israel
are key to a flourishing future. This spirit will not only benefit both nations
but will also create new pages in the history of humanity.
The two leaders awarded
winners of the India Israel Innovation Challenge 2017. These include 2
challenges each in agriculture, healthcare and water. The Modi Netanyahu
bonhomie was once again on perfect display. While Prime Minister Modi greeted
Netanyahu in Hebrew, Israeli PM also had a few words to share in Hindi.

also gifted PM Modi the Gal-Mobile desalination van through video link. It is
the same van on which the two Prime Minister rode during PM Modi's visit to
Israel. The vehicle will be used to provide clean water to BSF Jawans in
Banaskantha and some villages in that district.
