Sailing into Mormugao Port from the Gulf
region port of Muscat with 2019 high end guests and another 595 crew
members, MS AIDABELLA operated by AIDA Cruises was the 5th cruise
liner to dock at Mormugao port during the current cruise tourism
season. The visiting guests were given a warm traditional welcome by
the Officials of the Goa Tourism and Development Corporation. They
were totally impressed with the display of colourful Goan folk
dances set to foot tapping live music showcasing rich Goan culture on
landing at the cruise terminal.
The high end guests who visited Goa
hailed from Phillipines (227), Germany (133), Indonesia (57),
India (106), and Ukraine (18) besides from other nationalities. Around 163
passengers were extended the E -Visa clearance facilities on landing
at Mormugao and facilitated their excursion to various tourists’ locations
in Goa. Arrangements were also made by the Shipping Agents M/s. J
M Baxi & Co. to give immediate clearance to 16 passengers besides
one escort crew member for overland tour.
The visitors were taken for a sight-
seeing tour of Goa’s famous tourists locations of churches,
temples, beaches in the north and south Goa, spice
gardens, Panjim city etc. The ground arrangement for sight-seeing
tours was handled by the main operator M/s. International Travel Bureau.
Luxury coaches and tourists taxis were at the disposal of the visiting guests
to take them around sight-seeing in Goa. The cruise liner sailed to
New Mangalore Port with the guests later in the evening carrying with
them sweet memories of their visit to the land of sun and sand.
