While congratulating the Commerce Minister and his Team of Officials for
bringing a path breaking Review of Foreign Trade Policy, Dr.A. Sakthivel,
Regional Chairman, FIEO Southern Region said that in the context of picking up
of global trade, the additional 2 per cent incentives provided in MIES /SFIS
scheme will help Indian exporters to
become more competitive in the international market. The focus on MSME and labour intensive
sectors will help the “Make in India” added Dr.A.Sakthivel.
Dr.A.Sakthivel also commented on various initiatives in the FTP including
new trust based self-rectification scheme for duty free imports, trade
facilitating measures and also creation of new logistic division. He urged the exporters to utilize these
facilities for venturing into new markets.
FIEO Regional Chairman also urged all State Governments to come up with
State Export Promotion Policy simultaneously so that the manufacturing activity
can get further boost.
