Seatech Shipping and Projects India Pvt. Ltd whose vessels regularly sail
between East and West Coast ports of the country was honoured at a business summit and awards function held
in Cochin last week with the prestigious Best Coastal Vessel Operator of the
Year (Project Cargo) award.
The award was given by the Deputy Chairperson of the Rajya Sabha at a
function held at the Kerala's Port town of Cochin
Seatech, as part of its diversifying
activities, had launched yet another service for its customers in 2016 by way
of coastal movement, which continues through 2017.
To mark this beginning, the company had deployed its first ever coastal
shipment vessel MV Al Monthana, which was loaded with steel pipes weighing
2,264 MT (4,532 cbm) on December 2, 2016 from Hazira to Ennore, and another
5,947 MT (3,171 cbm) from Mundra to Kattupalli on December 5, 2016.
In 2017, Seatech has had many coastal movement voyages, of which the vessel
Frendsborg is worth being highlighted for the 8 voyages made in a span of 2
months, along with the vessel MV Fairplayer doing a voyage charter.
The award recognises excellence in coastal vessel operations, safety,
efficiency and reliability, and is open to ship operators in India.
Coastal movement is recognised as a viable mode of transport that is
fuel-efficient, cost-effective and environment-friendly. The award shows that
