Port of Halifax, Canada delegation visits Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust

A delegation from the Port of Halifax, Canada visited JNPT here today to discuss the possibility of potential partnerships that could improve the connectivity between both the ports, says a release from JNPT.

The delegation was led by Rebecca Bruce, Stakeholders Relations and Communication, Port of Halifax, Canada along with Joachim Rocha, Trade Commissioner, Trade office of Canada (Government of Canada).

 Welcoming the delegation, Shri Neeraj Bansal, IRS, Chairman in-charge, JNPT showcased the progress JNPT has made in the last few years and highlighted the trade friendly steps implemented for boosting the trade. Paperless trade, Direct Port Delivery, technological upgradation and improvement in the infrastructure to promote trade were shared with the visiting delegation by Mr. Bansal. In the meeting the two teams discussed about commencing direct sailing between the two ports in the context of increasing trade between India and Canada.

 The delegation of Halifax Port is part of the government of Canada’s technology and innovation focussed trade mission that visited India from November 13-17 comprising several Canadian ministers and government officials.
