Come New Year Indians’ visit to Japan will become easy

Indians will find it easier to secure a visa to visit Japan from January 1, with the country announcing simplified procedures for Indian travellers on November 14th

Applicants will no longer have to submit their employment certificate and letters of explanation for multiple-entry visas. The number of documents required has been brought down to three, according to a statement from the Japanese embassy here.

If you have travelled to Japan twice in one year, the list of documents comes down further, to just your passport and the visa application form. The relaxation is expected to help further development of people-to-people exchanges between Japan and India by enhancing convenience for Indian tourists and businesspersons as well as repeat visitors."

The relaxations follows come on the back of repeated requests by Indian businesses as well as general improvement in bilateral relations.
