The Hyderabad based construction major GVK
Industries bagged the contract for developing the prestigious Navi Mumbai
International airport, the project in the pipeline for over a decade to
dicongest the crowded Mumbai Airport.
The nodal agency of the Maharashtra government
CIDCO has handed over the letter of award to the GVK group for developing the
international airport in the Mumbai suburb.
The company is all set to commence work on the Rs
16,000 crore Public Private Partnership Mode Project ( PPP ) which has been
delayed indefinitely due to land acquisition problems and Environmental issues.
The GVK group in a statement welcoming the
decision of the Maharashtra government said they are confidant of providing
another landmark airport for Mumbai city soon.
