Sawaikar, Member of Hindi Advisory Committee MOS, New Delhi addressed the
big gathering on the occasion of the Valedictory function of Hindi Fortnight in
Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) on 10/10/2017. Gracing the occasion as chief guest,
he said “It is a language in which we can easily communicate our messages,
feelings and information to the masses, so we have to use it and encourage
others for using the same in all the activities. This will enrich our language
and people will also feel comfortable to use Hindi in their day to day
workings. I am glad to notice that MPT is doing better every time I
visit here in the field of Hindi as well as in making profits and contributing
a lot in the development of Goa”.
In his welcome address Shri J. B. Dhawale,
Secretary, briefed the gathering about the various programmes organized
during Hindi Fortnight and requested all the Officers and employees that it is
our Constitutional responsibility to use Official Language Hindi in our
Official workings. It will strengthen the country and unite the people.
Speaking on the occasion the Dy. Chairman, Shri. G. P. Rai,
stressed upon the Officers and employees that as a citizen of India
we should feel proud to use our National Language. Unless we start using Hindi by
our own we will never be able to implement Official Language in true spirit of
the Constitution. While addressing the gathering Chairman Shri. I.
Jeyakumar expressed his gratitude towards Hon’ble M.P Adv. Narendra
Sawaikar for gracing the occasion. He assured that under his able guidance MPT
will strive hard to achieve the targets laid down by the Department of Official
Language, Govt. of India. He also urged all the Officers and employees to make
maximum use of Hindi in their Official workings.
The Second issue of annual Hindi Magazine “गोंयपोर्टदर्पण” (Gőy Port Darpan) was also released during this occasion at the hands of Hon’ble Chief Guest Adv. Sawaikar. Smt. Nilima Swar, Sr. Hindi Translator summarized about the various Hindi competitions held during Hindi Fortnight. The prizes of these competitions were also distributed at the hands of the distinguished dignitaries. The students of Deepvihar Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools, Headland Sada, who scored highest marks in the Hindi subject in Secondary and Higher Secondary Board exams 2016-17 were also felicitated on the occasion. A Rajbhasha Rolling Shield 2016-17 was awarded to the Finance Department of MPT for excelling in implementation of Official Language, Hindi. Smt. Nilam Kenkre, Hindi Officer, compeered the function and Smt. Roshan Komarpant, Sr. Hindi Translator proposed the vote of thanks.
