MPT Hospital has signed a Memorandum
with NACO (National Aids Control Organization, New Delhi) in 2012 and
Ministry of Shipping has partnered with NACO under their “EMPLOYER
LED MODEL” in 2015.
Prevention of HIV / AIDS
needs multi sectoral response and mainstreaming. Partnership is one
key approach in order for awareness generation, reducing vulnerability and
mitigating an impact of HIV among those infected and affected by HIV.
To strengthen the partnership a workshop
on “Strengthening public and private sector response to HIV” was conducted
at Panjim recently. The participants were from industries of public
and private sector, key stakeholders who are engaged in the world of work
response to HIV and officials from Goa,
Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telengana,
State Aids Control Society.
Dr. Nimish Pillai, Chief Medical
Officer/MPT, addressed the workshop on behalf of MPT and appraised about
awareness activities conducted by MPT Hospital for their employees
and migrant labour workers.
A meeting was organized
at MPT Hospital on 07th September 2017 under the
Chairmanship of Dr. Naresh Goyal, Deputy Director General, NACO,
New Delhi. Dr. G. V. Prabhu from Goa Shipyard also participated in
the meeting attended by representatives of GSACS and six other State
Aids Control Societies.
The Members discussed the
conduct of Awareness Program on HIV AIDS all over Goa. The representatives from
other states highlighted the awareness campaign they conduct on bringing about
awareness among the public on HIV AIDS.
