Indonesia has agreed to conduct Inspection visits in India for registering
export of dairy products, fresh food of Plant origin and inspect meat processing
At the Second India Indonesia Biennial Trade Ministers forum held in the
National Capital on September 25, Commerce Minister Suresh Prabhu raised the
issue of market access and regulatory barriers concerning Indian Pharma, Health
and Dairy Products and Bovine meat in the Indonesian market.
The Trade Ministers of both the countries who led the delegation of
respective countries also discussed the issue of market access to Indian
automotive and auto components manufactured in India.
Investment opportunities on Joint Ventures, Textile Machinery
Manufacturing, Textile Parks and Special Economic Zones were also taken up
during the meeting.
The second biennial trade ministers forum was held between delegations led
by Commerce Minister Suresh Prabhu and Indonesian Minister for Trade Mr
Enggariasto Lukita. Both the countries agreed to convene an early meeting of
the working group on trade and investment and Working group on trade
The meeting will also address the issues impeding trade and identifying
means to facilitating trade and investment between the two countries. It will
also look into facilitation of services and areas of mutual interest between
the two countries.
The Ministers agreed to deepen the economic cooperation and bilateral trade
by having greater cooperation of the stakeholders including government business
The meeting was preceded by a senior officials meeting where groundwork was
done for the trade ministers forum meeting.
