An all women sailing yacht takes off from Goa on a mission to circumnavigate the world

The all women six member crew, officers of the Indian Navy set off on a sailing yacht INSV Tarini from Goa on a mission to circumnavigate the world. In the next two hundred days the women crew will travel 22,000 nautical miles becoming the first ever women crew to conquer the seas.

The crew will sail the INSV Tarini down south towards Australia and around Cape Horn the southernmost tip of South America with stop overs at Fremantle (Australia) Lyttleton (New Zealand) Port Stanley (Falklands) and Cape Town (South Africa) The women are expected to be back in Goa in April 2018.

The crew is led by Lt Commanders Vartika Joshi, Parthiba Jamwal and P Swathi, and Lieutinants S Vijaya devi, B.Aishwarya and Payal Gupta.
