Flight services resumed from the Union Territory, with the launch of
services between Puducherry and Hyderabad on August fifteen.
Chief Minister V Narayanasamy accorded a warm reception to passengers on
their arrival at Puducherry airport in neighbouring Lawspet by private carrier
Spicejet. When the maiden flight landed at the airport two fire engines
splashed water and gave a water salute to the aircraft.
He had earlier inaugurated the daily flight service linking Puducherry with
Hyderabad and Vijayawada. Narayanasamy handed over to each of the 78 passengers
boarding passes for the newly introduced service to Hyderabad.
The daily flight departs Hyderabad airport at 10.00 hours and reaches
Puducherry at 11.20 hours. In the return direction it leaves Puducherry at
11.40 and lands in Hyderabad at 1.10 p.m. The one way fare is priced at Rs
Puducherry will soon be connected to Chennai, Bengaluru and Coimbatore
under Udan scheme.
