Puducherry put on air map again

Flight services resumed from the Union Territory, with the launch of services between Puducherry and Hyderabad on August fifteen.

Chief Minister V Narayanasamy accorded a warm reception to passengers on their arrival at Puducherry airport in neighbouring Lawspet by private carrier Spicejet. When the maiden flight landed at the airport two fire engines splashed water and gave a water salute to the aircraft.

He had earlier inaugurated the daily flight service linking Puducherry with Hyderabad and Vijayawada. Narayanasamy handed over to each of the 78 passengers boarding passes for the newly introduced service to Hyderabad.

The daily flight departs Hyderabad airport at 10.00 hours and reaches Puducherry at 11.20 hours. In the return direction it leaves Puducherry at 11.40 and lands in Hyderabad at 1.10 p.m. The one way fare is priced at Rs 2,449.

Puducherry will soon be connected to Chennai, Bengaluru and Coimbatore under Udan scheme.
