To commemorate the World Breastfeeding
Week Celebration, an Awareness Camp was held on August 6, 2017 at Paradip
Ladies Club, for expectant mothers from local slums of Udaybata, Bauriaplanda,
Jagannath Colony, Atharabanki, Sector 21 and Loknath Colony.

Port Trust Hospital told them that Breastfeeding is the best way to provide
new-borns with the nutrients they need. World Health Organisation also
recommends exclusive Breastfeeding until a baby is 6 months old and continued
Breastfeeding with the addition of nutritious complementary food for upto 2
years or beyond. Mrs. Subhalaxmi Roy, President, Paradip Ladies Club and other
members distributed nutrition food kits to the slum dwelling expecting mothers,
present during the occasion.
