Bombay Chamber of Commerce to conduct ‘Marine Claims Settlement’ workshop

A half-a-day workshop on ‘Marine Cargo Claims and Documentation’ is set to organised by Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 9th August at Mumbai. Marine Claims Settlement is the most important thing is the collation of various shipping and insurance papers. This session aims to assist participants to understand in-depth analysis of cargo claims and documentations. It shall answer the following key question viz., What are the procedures and formalities to claim Marine Insurance? How can you ensure that your claim is recoverable under your marine Insurance policy?

 The topics to be covered include:-Types of Claims under Marine Cargo Policy, Measure of Indemnity and Subrogation, Third Party Liability and General Average, Cargo Claims Documentation, Maritime Frauds with special reference to Cargo Claims. The workshop is touted to be administered by Capt Mukesh Gautama. He is presently Managing Director of Wilson Surveyors and Adjusters Pvt.  Ltd. who are Lloyd’s Agents in India, Nepal and Bhutan. He sailed with Shipping Corporation of India and was in command of Cargo ships and Bulk Carriers.  Thereafter, he joined Tata Tea Ltd. and was promoted as General Manager, looking after their Lloyd’s Agency Division. 

 He was awarded 1st Prize in Fellowship Examination of Narottam Morarjee Institute of Shipping and has passed Associateship Examination conducted by Association of Average Adjusters – United Kingdom. He has passed with distinction Diploma in P&I insurance conducted by South Tyneside College –England. He is a Fellow of Indian Institute of Insurance Surveyors and Loss Assessors and The Company of Master Mariners of India, says a release.
