A two day workshop for farmers was held at
a Farmersí Training Centre under the Govt. of Odisha at Barmunda in
Bhubaneswar. A group of 23 farmers attended this two days workshop organised by
Govt. of Odisha in association with Paradip Phosphate under the guidance of
Dhamra Port. The main objective of this workshop was to sensitize the farmers
about new and modern techniques being used in agricultural farming to produce
more crops. Farmers of the Farmersí Club (Govind Farmersí Club of Karanjmal
& Basanti Durga Club of Bania Panchayat) formed by Dhamra Port attended
this worksop programme. A detailed discussion on adaptation of new agricultural
techniques, soil testing, use of modern equipments, fertility of the land, crop
cleaning and processing, preparation of crop bed, plantation, SRI methodology,
application of pesticides and crop conservation was held in this two day long
workshop. In this training programmes trainers including Biswajeet Nanda, Anil
Das, Sachidananda Panda etc. imparted training on various important steps needs
to be undertaken by farmers during farming.
Praising these efforts of Dhamra port, Shri
Haripada Nayak of Narendrapur village under Karanjmal Panchayat said that, such
kind of training programme helped them a lot to learn about newer and modern
techniques of agricultural production.
