Honours are sought to be given to real and unsung heroes of the
Logistics supply chain industry for the first time in a Mega Maritime event
titled the Pride of Seas on October 13 at ITC Grand Chola Chennai.
The Grand event, titled the Pride of the Seas will unfold that day
when fifty top notch Indian Merchant Navy Officers including Captains, Chief
Engineers,Chief officers Second Engineers receive the prestigious Pegasus Awards. Ten Master
Mariners and Merchant Navy Officers will be given the Standing Ovation for
their meritorius service to the industry.
Significantly this is the first time the Indian Merchant Navy
Officers, backbone of the country's Logistics and Supply Chain Industry are
being honoured at a grand event by the Maritime Industry.
Pride of Seas was conceptualised
and structured by a father and son duo Dr Arul Anthony Joseph and Mr Arul
AugustinJoseph in 2016. The idea was to shed lime light on our Indian Merchant
Navy Officers and honour them for their extensive service rendered to our

contribute respects to these Real and Unsung heroes who play a vital role in
the Logistics Supply Chain Industry. Their aim eventually led to the birth of
Pride of Seas, the mega maritime event to be held in Chennai on October 13th
Dr Arul Anthony Joseph,
Chairman Managing Director of Unicorn Maritimes, Unicorn group is also a proud
seafarer himself having experience in Shipping industry for more than 45 years.
He is the backbone of Pride of Seas event. The event is being steered under his
The second in command for the event is Mr Arul Augustin Joseph,
younger son of Dr.Arul Anthony Joseph and also a Director of Unicorn Maritimes,
Unicorn Group. He is a graduate of University of Bradford, UK.
Mr Arul Augustine Joseph has climbed milestone records and
achievements at a young age. Under his Directorship Unicorn group has achieved
several records. The Unicorn group has bagged the Best Steamer Agent Award in
the category of Bulk cargo for successive years from 2011 to 2016 by SECC when
he led the company from the front. He was also bestowed “ Rising Star” award at
SECC 2016,He currently holds the responsibility as Vice Chairman ( BULK)in
CHENNSA which is considered one of the oldest and prestigious Ship Agents
Association in India.
The Nominations for the
prestigious Pegasus awards will be received from Crew Managers, Ship Owners,
Ship Operators and Shipping and Logistics Companies.
The scrutiny of Nominations will be done by a Set of renowned Jury
comprising Captains, Chief Officers, Chief Engineers, Ship Owners or
representatives, Ship Operators or representatives, Officials of Shipping
Ministry, Maritime Organisations, Ship Agents Associations, Nautical colleges,
DG Shipping of India and other eminent personalities from Indian Maritime and
The nomination process has successfully commenced and is on in full
swing. Opportunities will be given to all companies located across India and
they are welcomed to nominate their officers and make them proud.
The Mega event, first of its
kind to be held in the country to honour merchant navy veterans will be held at
ITC Grand Chola, Chennai on October 13.
The event will be conducted by M/S Licorne, a unit of Unicorn Group.
Licorne will organise the event and is looking forward to exhibit it on a grand
scale. The event is expected to be attended by representatives of Government of
India and iconic personalities from the Indian Maritime and Trade fraternity.
