BJD MP Rabindra Kumar Jena has called upon
Japanese counterparts to embark on industrial investment in Odisha.
Odisha is a virgin area with a lot of
potential for investment in mineral-based industries. The Japanese industrial
entrepreneurs need to look forward to explore the business prospects in the
state, said Balasore MP Jena, who is now in Japan with an Indian delegation of
FICCI’s Indo- Japan forum of Parliamentarians and senior representatives of
Attending the meeting of JIBCC
(Japan-India business cooperation committee), first-time MP Jena called upon
the business leaders to invest substantially in India particularly in
Odisha and Balasore .
“ Emphasis was laid on the development of
tourist circuit , mainly the sea coast projects of Balasore
involving unique and serene beaches
including Talseri, Dagara and Chandipur and promotion of ports .
Besides stress was laid on the infrastructural development of Odisha including
Metro rail project,” said Jena.
“Odisha government has come up with the
Industrial Policy Resolution 2015 to create conducive environment. The eastern
state has also vast reserve of both skilled and unskilled human resources which
could come in handy for industrial venture. The Japanese entrepreneurs should
explore the options readily available in Odisha,” he said.
“During the tour, finding opportunity
we visited another wonderful facility of Toyota, on
scrapping and shredding of old used cars, which follows strong
environmental norms. The Govt. of Japan has strong legislative environment
norm for the scrapping of old cars. I was particularly interested in this and
will propose for such law in India to protect our environment,” Jena said.
Jena as a member of a
parliamentary delegation was on a five day, between 18
and 23 of his month visit to Japan aiming to
study Japanese technology and models that are relevant for India's 'Make in
India' initiative, renewable energy sector and clean
