Odisha’s first international flight takes off

Odisha today 27April ‘17 reached a new high by direct air linkage connectivity of the state to South East Asia.

Malaysian carrier Air Asia today launched its direct flights from Bhubaneswar to Kuala Lumpur. There would be four direct flights every week.

The first international flight of Air Asia arrives in Biju Patnaik international airport in Bhubaneswar during wee hours today. Because of persistent effort of government, the epoch-making feat could be made possible following the signing of MoU between tourism department and Air Asia, said official sources.  

The international air linkage has added a glorious chapter in Odisha’s aviation history.   

With the extension of service to Odisha, It would be Air Asia Group's 16th route into India.

Air Asia group has air connectivity with Bengaluru, Visakhapatnam, Kolkata, Kochi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Tiruchirappalli, New Delhi directly to Kuala Lumpur.
