Three Pakistani commandos killed when boat capsizes in Gujarat coast

Three commandos of the Pakistan's Maritime security agency (PMSA) died and another missing and two rescued by the Indian coast guards in a freak accident near the Gujarat coast in the early hours of April 10

A fleet of PMSA boats had entered the Indian territorial waters around seventy nautical miles off the Jakhau port and started rounding up the local fishermen fishing in the area charging that they had trespassed into Pakistani waters.

After rounding up the Indian fishermen the Pakistani boats were escorting them to Karachi Port. During the journey to Pakistani port the fishing trawler Mehanoor broke down and collided with the fast boat of PSMA. In the collision the Pakisani boat capsized throwing the six commandos into the sea.

On receipt of a message about the accident Indian coastguard ship Arinjay reached the spot and found bodies of three Pakistani commandos floating, the coast guard personnel rescued two Pakistani commandos and handed them over to the PMSA.

After the coastguard officials handed over the bodies of two Pakistani commandos to PMSA the latter released the Indian boats including the one that caused the accident. According to coastguard sources the accident took place about ten nautical miles within the Indian territorial waters.
