Medical camp organised for custom house agents of north Chennai

The Chennai Customs House Brokers Association ( CCHBA)in collaboration with the National Hospital organised an elaborate medical camp for customs house agents and their employees at the Allcargo Logistics premises in Tiruvottiyur on March 22.

The association has been conducting periodic health camps and the last one was held at the Aircargo complex. The present camp was inagurated by Chief Commissioner of Customs of Chennai circle Pranab Kumar Das

Mr Das emphasized the need for periodic medical checkup for the employees and their families in the stress driven work atmosphere.

President of the association K V V Giri said the association proposed to conduct medical camps once in three months in all the 32 container freight stations where the employees toiled day and night.

Mr S.Padmanabhan, Senior Member,The Chennai Custom House Brokers Association, urged the customs administration to provide toilet facilities for a huge slum just behind the customs house complex as a corporate social responsibility. Needless to emphasize the present government giving imporantance to Swattch bharat, he said.

Mr Avinash of All Cargo Logistics welcomed the gathering. Mr Sabrish Mohan Kumar Joint Managing director of National hospital assured the employees of follow up treatment in his hospital for any ailment detected at the camp. The hospital he said is running a trauma centre at Ernavur in North Chennai to take care of truck operators operating in the port.

Mr Lakhmipathy of Chennai customs brokers association said the eye dental cardiac care specialists were available in the camp.
