The second terminal of Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International airport
capable of handling additional 25 million passengers per year will be
commissioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi soon
The exact dates will be finalysed by the Prime Minister’s office in
consultation with Karnataka government
The airport authorities have requested the Prime Minister to
inaugurate the rs 13,000 crore terminal. KIA, the country’s third biggest
airport had recorded 33 million passengers in 2020 before Covid-19 struck.

It will have a total built-up
area of 2.54 lakh square meters. All arrivals have been planned on the ground
floor while departures will happen on the first floor
Mr Modi is also expected inaugurate the suburban railway project in
Bengaluru city intended to tackle the chronic congestion in Bengaluru’s road
for the past several years. He will also inaugurate the Sir M V Vishveshvaraya
coaching terminal at Byapanahalli, third of its kind in Bengaluru to
decentralize the operation of trains to the city.
The other terminals are city
