Air travelers in Coimbatore airport
will have an artificial intelligence driven robot to guide them to various
spots in the airport.
The robots will greet passengers coming to and fro and will guide them to various spots
within the airport. The autonomous robot has been equipped with software
specific to the Coimbatore airport and will operate on the floor by reaching
out to passengers, greeting them and asking if they require any assistance
If a passenger desires to speak
with airport staff, the robot will also connect them through video call via an
onboard screen for quick disposal of queries
The Airport authority of India will
use artificial intelligence (AI) enabled robots to facilitate its services for
flyers, for the first time in Tamil Nadu to upgrade its operations and
passenger experience.
Robot service a jv between Coimbatore airport and ‘Temi” a robot
company
The service was deployed in
Coimbatore Airport from June 9th in a joint venture with 'Temi', the
multinational robotics company, two robots will be used one each at the arrival
and departure area of the airport.
The pilot project of using
AI-enabled robots has been implemented at the airport for an initial period of
six months. Prior to this, 10 AI-driven assistance robots were introduced at Bengaluru
International Airport to enhance passenger experience. |
