The
state owned Bharat Petroleum Corporation accounts for nearly sixty per cent of
the cargo handled by the Cochin port. The Port handled nearly twenty million
tons of crude to be processed by the BPCL refinery situated near the port
BPCL is the largest shipper for the Cochin
port where huge
investments were made to facilitate transshipment traffic. But transshipment is
yet to pick up from the port though the
facility was commissioned nearly 12 years ago.
BPCL
has received the award for excellence in business performance in cargo handling
at Cochin port for the year 2021-22
The
Cochin Refinery team led by BPCL chief general manager (Manufacturing) M Sankar
received the award from Cochin Port Authority chairperson M Beena last week
Commissioner
of Customs P K Mohammed Yousaf, Naval Officer-in-Charge Commodore Rajesh Kumar
Yadav and Cochin Port Deputy Conservator Capt Joseph Alappat were present on
the occasion. |
