JNPT creates a new post to deal with development and expansion

India's premier container port JNPT has created a post which will exclusively deal with the Port's development and expansion.

G. Vaidyanathan is the new Chief Manager, Port Planning & Development (PPD), Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT).

A Graduate Civil Engineer with MBA and LLB qualifications, he also has an M. Tech in Ocean Engineering (gold medallist) from IIT Madras. He joined the port sector as Assistant Executive Engineer in 1992 in Mumbai Port Trust. In an earlier stint, he was Deputy Manager in JNPT (1999 to 2011). He has also served as Deputy Chief Engineer in Visakhapatnam Port Trust (2011 to 2016) and Chief Engineer in Cochin Port Trust (2016-2021).

Mr Vaidyanathan joined JNPT as Chief Manager (Port Planning & Development Department)  Overall, he has more than 29 years of experience in marine construction and port infrastructure/PPP projects. He has contributed to several projects of national importance in the Major Ports and was awarded the Annual Maritime Award by the Ministry of Shipping in 2008. He has contributed 15 papers/publications in national/international journals/conferences, informed an official communiqué.
