Kerala chief
minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday 18 Feb 21 inaugurated the 1,200 sq mt cargo complex with
an annual capacity of 12,000 metric tonnes cargo at Kannur International
Airport, Kerala.
"Chief
Minister said that efforts were being made to introduce more services,
including those of foreign airlines, from the Kannur International Airport. He
expressed the hope that the central government would take a positive approach
in this regard. He asked union civil aviation minister, Hardeep Singh Puri, who
was the chief guest, to take a favourable approach in allowing foreign companies
to operate services from Kannur," reports The Hindu.
4th International Airport in Kerala to get international
cargo terminal soon
Puri informed that
the 4th International Airport in Kerala which has been set up on a
public-private-partnership PPP model will also get a 6,000 sq mt international
cargo terminal soon.
“The opening of cargo
complex will help open up new opportunities to our farmers & industries to
find new markets & to see that their products reach the customers in quick
time,” the civil aviation minister tweeted. |
