Chennai port will have a new Traffic Manager; post lying vacant for a few months

Chennai Port will have a new Traffic Manager shortly. Mr Kirupanandaswamy who was a Deputy Traffic Manager of the Port a few years ago will be the new Traffic Manager. But his takeover of the in Chennai Port will be delayed as the Shipping Ministry has decided that he will be relieved from Kandla port only after a successor is found.

As per the Ministry of Shipping’s Office Order No. 17/2020, dated October 6, 2020, the following key personnel changes have been made at Kandla Port Trust (DPT) with immediate effect:

The posting of a new Traffic Manager in Chennai is part of the reshuffle of officers the shipping ministry has undertaken at Kandla port in Gujarat from where the  Shipping Minister hails .

Mr S. Kirupanandasamy, Traffic Manager of Kandla port, has been transferred to Chennai Port Trust. This is a conditional transfer as Mr Kirupanandasamy is to be relieved only after a new incumbent takes charge as Traffic Manager at Kandla Port.

Chennai port has been functioning without a Traffic Manager for the last few months as the incumbent Mr Mukesh Balani had quit the post and had gone on voluntary retirement.

The reshuffle of officers at Kandla port includes

 Mr D. N. Sondhi, FA & CAO, has been transferred to Paradip Port Trust. He will be replaced by Cochin Port Trust’s Mr B. Bhagyanath.

Capt. Tekumulla Srinivas, Deputy Conservator, has been transferred to Visakhapatnam Port Trust. He will be replaced by Visakhapatnam Port Trust’s Mr Pradip Mohanty.

 Mr T. Venugopal, Secretary, has been transferred to Visakhapatnam Port Trust. He will be replaced by Visakhapatnam Port Trust’s Mr C. Harichandran.
