QUESTION 1:

We are taking “NEET” Exam coaching classes for the Plus Two students separately. Is there GST for such services to the students? Should we obtain GST registration? 

Answer:

Since you are not coming under the ambit of Educational Institution as per GST Act, you have to obtain GST, when your total annual billing for your services exceeds Rs.20 lacs.  After registration, collect 18% GST tax and remit it to the Government.

Question: 2

I am an Insurance Agent. Should I obtain Registration? If so, what percentage of tax should I collect?

Answer:

Since you are an insurance agent, there is no need to register for GST.  For your services, insurance company has to remit GST tax under reverse charge basis. There is no impact on you.

Question: 3

While filing the returns, should the registered person furnish the invoice-wise details on the sales made to the unregistered consumers?

Answer:

There is no need to upload the invoice-wise details of sales made to the consumers. However, you have to furnish such details at the time of filing the returns, when the invoice value exceeds Rs.2.50 lacs for the sales to the other state consumer.
